About the Department of Occupational Therapy

The Department of Occupational Therapy offers a professional entry degree; Master of Health Sciences in Occupational Therapy. Advanced practice graduate certificates are under development as well as a Doctoral degree program in Occupational Therapy. 

Occupational therapy faculty and students jointly participate in research and clinical activities. Faculty and students frequently present at regional and national conferences. The MCG Department of Occupational Therapy graduates’ mean score on the NBCOT National Certification Exam exceeds national averages. Occupational therapy graduates are considered as the employee of choice.


About This Website

This website was created as a graduation requirement by a group of four students of the Master of Health Sciences in Occupational Therapy class of 2006. The specific aims of this project are:

  • To compare accessibility of facilities with those needed to participate fully in ones meaningful occupations.
  • To consider the needs of the population and present an unbiased survey of places
  • To survey public facilities in Augusta, GA and determine what percent are accessible
  • To provide accessibility information on website and in a written document about public facilities available for general use.

MCG’s department of Occupational Therapy has collected accessibility data on Augusta, GA since 1986. Mrs. Donna Domyslawski, MA, OTR/L was the graduate advisor of the group.
